MyMedicare

The government has recently announced the introduction of MyMedicare, a new voluntary patient registration system. Under this system you will be offered the choice to register with your preferred General Practice, enabling you to access the maximum benefits available under the new Medicare framework. This voluntary registration does not restrict you from using other Practices, but it is likely that future government funding for patients will be tied to their registered Practice. 

The added benefits for signing up to MyMedicare at present include increased telehealth consultation rebates but we are expecting the government to make additions to this in the near future.  

The aim of the MyMedicare system is to ensure continuity of care by seeing your GP regularly and formalising the relationship you have with your GP and general practice.

Enrolling for MyMedicare is easily done through your MyGov account, if this is not possible you can collect a registration form from reception.
