IF YOU HAVE A COUGH, FEVER, SORE THROAT OR A RUNNY NOSE OR ARE UNWELL IN ANY WAY

PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE SURGERY BEFORE YOU HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH BY TELEPHONE WITH THE SURGERY

TELEPHONE CALLS/CONSULTATIONS

ALL telephone calls will be vetted by our reception staff and nurses before putting you through to one of our Doctors.

Patients meeting the following criteria are eligible for Medicare-related services in relation to telephone consultation:

Vulnerable/isolated patients are those where at least one of the following apply:

(a) the person has been diagnosed with COVID-19 virus but who is not a patient of a hospital; or

(b) the person has been required to isolate themselves in quarantine in accordance with home isolation guidance issued by Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC); or

(c) the person is considered more susceptible to the COVID-19 virus being a person who is:

(i) at least 70 years old; or

(ii) at least 50 years old and is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; or

(iii) is pregnant; or

(iv) is a parent of a child under 12 months; or

(v) is already under treatment for chronic health conditions or is immune compromised; or

(d) the person meets the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-19 infection.

From 16th April 2020 anyone with upper respiratory symptoms may be tested for Covid19

We have stringent measures in place at Hazelwood Clinic to enable us to remain open and provide service as usual

bar the new necessary precautions in place

This means our Flu vaccines are given on the premises for the safety of our patients

HAZELWOOD CLINIC IS SAFE

We realise that not all medical problems can be dealt with over the telephone or by video consultation

We have done our utmost to ensure safety of patients and staff at the surgery

Stringent measures are in place in accordance with Health Department advice to ensure all our safety

Due to unprecedented circumstances ALL phone scripts will be billed a flat rate of $15.00
alternatively
patients will be offered an appointment with a Doctor

  • PROVIDED IT IS ONLY FOR THE SCRIPT(S) they will be bulk billed.
  • SHOULD patients convert this into a consultation about other matters they will be billed appropriately
  • Medicare rules continue to apply to Referrals and forms so a consultation is required
