Important Covid-19 Information

Covid-19 is still very much prevalent in the community and the wellbeing of our patients and staff is our priority. If you have any of the below symptoms;

  • fever (a temperature of 37.5˚C or higher) or chills
  • Cough
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Tiredness (fatigue)
  • Runny or blocked nose
  • Shortness of breath (difficulty breathing)
  • Nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea
  • Headache
  • Loss of appetite

Or have been in contact with a known positive Covid-19 case, please do not come into the surgery. We ask that you ring and speak to our reception staff who will be happy to help you with an appropriate appointment based on the information you provide.

PCR Testing – Why Test??

PCR testing is still very important and relevant despite testing centres closing. RAT tests are unable to pick up every strain of Covid-19 so PCR testing is more accurate. For those eligible, antivirals taken within 5 days from the onset of symptoms can reduce your risk of long covid, respiratory, cardiovascular and renal problems.

After a phone consultation your Doctor can provide you with a self collection PCR testing kit.

If you require further information regarding Covid-19 and what you are required to do should you test positive for it, please refer to the SA Health website.

A Message from Jan

To the Patients of Hazelwood Clinic

It is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement effective 11th February.

It has been an honour and a privilege to care for you and your families as your nurse for the past 15 and a half years. I have truly valued the trust you placed in me regarding your health and well-being.

I want to reassure you that you will continue to receive excellent care from the rest of our team here.

Thank you for making my career so rewarding with your kindness, laughs, conversations and the appreciation you have shown me throughout my time here.

I wish you all the best in health and happiness.

Sincerely

Jan McCrea
