General recommendations

Due to a number of cases associated with Adelaide Airport, it is now recommended to test persons with a COVID-19 compatible illness who have been in the airport in the 14 days prior to illness onset.

  • Travellers who have returned from overseas (including transit) on or after 16 March; or from interstate on or after 22nd of March and close contacts of a confirmed case, must remain in quarantine for 14 days from departure/last contact irrespective of test result.
  • Health Care Workers with an influenza-like illness should not work whilst symptomatic

Due to a number of cases associated with Adelaide Airport, it is now recommended to test persons with a COVID-19 compatible illness who have been in the airport in the 14 days prior to illness onset.

This does not include South Australians who live and work at the border.

Please only present for testing if you meet the following criteria:

  • You have travelled overseas in the past 14 days AND have symptoms

  • You have travelled interstate in the past 14 days AND have new symptoms.

  • You have been in contact with a confirmed case AND have symptoms.

  • persons with a COVID-19 compatible illness who have been in the airport in the 14 days prior to illness onset

  • You are a healthcare worker with direct patient contact AND have a fever (≥38) AND an acute respiratory infection (e.g. shortness of breath, cough, sore throat).​

  • Where there are two or more cases of illness clinically consistent with COVID-19 (see clinical criteria) in the following settings:

  • Aged care and other residential care facilities
  • Military operational settings
  • Boarding schools
  • Correctional facilities
  • Detention centres
  • Aboriginal rural and remote communities, in consultation with CDCB

TELEPHONE CALLS/CONSULTATIONS

ALL telephone calls will be vetted by our reception staff and nurses before putting you through to one of our Doctors.

Patients meeting the following criteria are eligible for Medicare-related services in relation to telephone consultation:

Vulnerable/isolated patients are those where at least one of the following apply:

(a) the person has been diagnosed with COVID-19 virus but who is not a patient of a hospital; or

(b) the person has been required to isolate themselves in quarantine in accordance with home isolation guidance issued by Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC); or

(c) the person is considered more susceptible to the COVID-19 virus being a person who is:

(i) at least 70 years old; or

(ii) at least 50 years old and is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; or

(iii) is pregnant; or

(iv) is a parent of a child under 12 months; or

(v) is already under treatment for chronic health conditions or is immune compromised; or

(d) the person meets the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-19 infection.

  • In order to expedite your query please make sure you are ready to answer these questions truthfully when asked

PRESCRIPTIONS AND OTHER PAPERWORK

Due to unprecedented circumstances ALL phone scripts will be billed a flat rate of $15.00
alternatively
patients will be offered an appointment with a Doctor

  • PROVIDED IT IS ONLY FOR THE SCRIPT(S) they will be bulk billed.
  • SHOULD patients convert this into a consultation about other matters they will be billed appropriately
  • Medicare rules continue to apply to Referrals and forms so a consultation is required
